Which of the following are thought to be most closely related to humans?
Oxana [17]

The correct answer is: sea stars

All animals listed above are invertebrates. One of the characteristic of invertebrates are that they are protostomes with the exception of Echinodermata (sea stars). The difference between protostomes and deuterostomes is in their embryonic development (orgin of mouth and anus).

In protostomes the mouth forms first: the oral end of the animal develops from the first developmental opening. On the other hand in deuterostomes the first opening (the blastopore) becomes the anus, and the oral end of the develops from the second opening.

Humans are also deuterostomes.

If Huntington's disease is due to a dominant trait, shouldn't three-fourths of the population have Huntington's while one-fourth
4vir4ik [10]
This would be probably true if the assumption that all possible genotypic variations would be equally distributed (so we would have 25% HH, 25% hh and 2x 25 Hh). If this distribution would be true and Huntingtons disease really was a single gene dominant trait diesase, then yes, we could expect such a distribution in the population.

The driving force presented by Wegener for his hypothesis was that continents ploughed through ocean crust.
babymother [125]

Answer:

"Alfred Wegener suggested that continental drift occurred as continents cut through the ocean floor, in the same way as this icebreaker plows through sea ice. ... The supercontinent later broke apart and the continents having been moving into their current positions ever since. He called his hypothesis continental drift."

Stalactite.

Stalactite:

 • Often, stalagmites develop up from the cave floor, whereas stalagmites typically grow down from the cave roof.
 • It's simple to distinguish between the two since stalagmites have a "G" for ground and stalactites have a "T" for top.
 • Typically made of calcium carbonate, stalagmites can also be made of lava, mud, peat, pitch, sand, sinter, and amber.
 • A single drop of water rich in minerals is the origin of all limestone stalactites.
 • The smallest ring of calcite is left behind by the falling water drop.
 • Another calcite ring is left behind with each new drop of water that develops and drops.
