Which statement is true for the set of natural numbers?

Mathematics

It's closed under addition. You can take any two natural numbers you want, add them up and you'll get some other natural number (eg: 3 and 5 ---> 3+5 = 8)

it's not closed under subtraction. Sure 5-3 = 2 is a natural number but 3-5 = -2 is not a natural number

so that leads us to the answer being choice B

Audrey has $111 to spend on a tennis racket and lessons. The racket costs $55 and the lessons cost $14 per hour. Define a variab
Mnenie [13.5K]

Answer:

Audrey can afford 4 hours of lesson.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

Amount Audrey has to spend = $111

Cost of racket = $55

Cost per lesson = $14

Let,

y be the total cost

x be the number of hours

According to given statement;

y = 14x + 55

111 = 14x + 55

111 - 55 = 14x

14x = 56

Dividing both sides by 14

\frac{14x}{14}=\frac{56}{14}\\x=4

Hence,

Audrey can afford 4 hours of lesson.

What i the solution to this equation<br> 6 (x - 5) = 4x + 20
cricket20 [7]

6 (x - 5) = 4x + 20

6x - 30 = 4x + 20

6x - 4x = 20 + 30

2x = 50

x =  \frac{50}{2}

x = 25

Please Help Quick!! Need full work shown!
kramer

Answer:

limit does not exists.

Step-by-step explanation:

From the given graph it is clear that the function approaches to 4 when x is approaches to 2 from left. So,

\lim_{x\to 2^-}f(x)=4

The function approaches to -4 when x is approaches to 2 from right. So,

\lim_{x\to 2^+}f(x)=-4

Now,

4\neq -4

\lim_{x\to 2^-}f(x)\neq \lim_{x\to 2^+}f(x)

Since, left hand limit is not equal to right hand limit, therefore, limit does not exists.
