A soda manufacturing company is experimenting with changing the taste of its product as the concentration of carbon dioxide chan

ges. To track their results, they must determine how concentration changes with pressure. The concentration of CO2 under a partial pressure of 0.719 atm is 429.7 ppm. At what pressure (in atm) would the CO2 need to be so that the concentration of CO2 is 235.3 ppm at the same temperature

Answer:

0.394 atm

Explanation:

Mathematically, when we increase the pressure of a gas, we are increasing its concentration and when we decrease the pressure, we are decreasing its concentration.l at same temperature

What this means is that pressure and concentration are directly proportional.

Representing concentration by c and pressure by p, we have;

P1/C1 = P2/C2

From the question;

P1 = 0.719 atm

P2 = ?

C1 = 429.7 ppm

C2 = 235.3 ppm

Now, we can rewrite the equation to be;

P1C2/C1 = P2

Substituting the values we have;

0.719 * 235.3/429.7 = 0.394 atm

If electrons are collectively compressed into a very small volume (e.g., within the core of a dying white dwarf star) where quan
m_a_m_a [10]

Answer:  A degenerate pressure will generate a large force to repel further  compression.

Explanation: In the production of new stars from the core of old dying white dwarf stars, the inner parts of the star will experience contraction with the release of  heat , as they contract, their atoms will be  squeezed such that their electrons start to overlap, and because of the Pauli's exclusive principle which states that no two electrons can occupy same space, the electrons will begin to repel each other and an opposing pressure called degenerate pressure will create a force so that the electrons  cannot continually be crushed or overlap. With the limit of contraction, the outer parts of the star will expand and be repelled releasing the old stars called nebula  and creating space for the inner new stars to form.

4. Which atom will form an anion when forming an ionic bond?
SpyIntel [72]

Answer:

Oxygen

Explanation:

Oxygen has 6 valence electrons and it wants to have 8 to obtain a stable octet. So Oxygen gains two electrons in the bond, developing an anion.

It is also a non-metal, and they tend to gain anions.
