y = -8x + 2 ................. equation 2

Equating the two equation , we have

8x + 2 = -8x + 2

collecting the like terms

8x + 8x = 2 - 2

16x = 0

x = 0

substitute x = 0 into equation 1

y = 8x + 2

y = 8(0) + 2

y = 2

Therefore : it has one solution
