Answer: 3. They were born of one fertilized ovum.

Explanation: A zygote is formed

when an egg is fertilized by a sperm. The zygote then undergoes a mitotic division into two and each half will further develop into a separate embryo. The two embryos formed will develop into identical twins.

Answer:

They were born of the one fertilized ovum

Explanation:

Referenced in this statement: "As a result, no two persons are exact genetic duplicates, with the exception of identical twins. Identical twins are the products of the same fertilized egg and have identical genes. Even identical twins may appear and behave differently as a result of varying environmental factors in their lives."

Recombinant DNA (rDNA) _____.
Mazyrski [523]

Answer:

combines genes from organisms of different species in a lab

Explanation:

Recombinant DNA technology involves the process of joining the genes (DNA) of different multiple species in order to insert into another organism (host). Recombinant DNA technology has many applications in genetic engineering.

One example of Recombinant DNA is the synthesis of Insulin in bacteria cell where a human insulin gene is first inserted into a plasmid vector, then inserted into a bacterial cell that uses its expression abilities to transcribe and translate the gene into INSULIN protein.

This procedure is usually conducted in a laboratory with the use of certain laboratory equipments.

The most basic definition of cellular respiration is that it is cells breaking down food to make energy. True or false?
fredd [130]

Answer:

True

Explanation:

In cells, energy is obtained from food through the process of cellular respiration. In mitochondria, this occurs through aerobic respiration- here, cells breakdown sugars like glucose into carbon dioxide and water and energy in the form of ATP or adenosine triphosphate.

In cellular aerobic respiration:

C6H12O6 (glucose) + 6 O2 → 6 CO2 + 6 H2O + ≅38 ATP

Describe how water
Alla [95]

Explanation:

Epipelagic zone, the topmost at the surface of the oceans receives most of the sunlight and most penetrating light rays diffuse in this layer. The temperatures at this zone, therefore, is warmer than zones below. This zone has lowest water pressure becaue there is little water column above it.

The deeper you get into the water the penetration of sunlight decreases. This is because the rays are greatly diffused even before they get to the deepest zones. The abyssalpelagic zone virtually receives no sunlight because the rays cannot get to this zone. This zone is, therefore, pitch dark and also the coldest. The deeper you get into the ocean the higher the water pressure due to the weight of the able water column. The water pressure is, therefore, highest in the abyssalpelagic zone.
