Distinguish Between matter and mass:

Matter:

  • Any substance that can occupy a space with some mass in it, is called as Matter.
  • Matter is visible.
  • Kilogram is its unit.
  • It is of three forms like liquid, solid, gas which is different in the physical form.
  • Matter is not constant and it keeps on changing into something new because of chemical reaction.

Mass:

  • The amount of matter that is contained in any object or space  is called as Mass.
  • Mass is invisible. It can be quantified.
  • It has different units like volume, weight.
  • It has active gravitational mass, passive gravitational mass.  and inertial mass and there is no difference in their forms.
  • Mass is constant and remains unchanged.

What is the volume of 84 g of bromine gas (Br2) at STP?
Alla [95]

Answer : The correct option is, 11.77 L

Solution : Given,

Mass of bromine gas = 84 g

Molar mass of bromine gas = 159.8 g/mole

First we have to calculate the moles of bromine gas.

\text{Moles of }Br_2=\frac{\text{ given mass of }Br_2}{\text{ molar mass of }Br_2}=\frac{84g}{159.8g/mole}=0.5256moles

Now we have to calculate the volume of bromine gas at STP.

As we know that at STP,

1 mole of bromine gas contains 22.4 L volume of bromine gas

So, 0.5256 mole of bromine gas contains 22.4\times 0.5256=11.77L volume of bromine gas

Therefore, the volume of bromine gas at STP is, 11.77 L

A sample of metal has a mass of 24.54 g, and a volume of 5.02 mL. What is the density of this metal? g/cm
zmey [24]

Answer:

4.88 g / cm³

Explanation:

Density of a substance is given by the mass of the substance divided by the volume of the substance .

Hence , d = m / V

V = volume

m = mass ,

d = density ,

From the question ,

The mass of the metal = 24.54 g

The volume of the metal = 5.02 mL

Hence , by using the above formula ,and putting the corresponding values , the density is calculated as -

d = m / V

d = 24.54 g / 5.02 mL

d = 4.88 g /mL

The unit 1mL = 1 cm³

Hence ,

d = 4.88 g / cm³

Are water waves transverse or longitudinal? How do you know? Own words please. No files or links either.
bagirrra123 [75]

Answer:

Transverse waves are known by motion being perpendicular to the waves movements. Longitudinal waves move in a direction parallel to the way the wave moves. Water waves are an example of both as they move in a clockwise motion.

Read the passage below about acupuncture.
valkas [14]
The answer would be "This ancient form of pain relief and stimulation is said to benefit patients by blocking channels which practitioners claim allowed pain to travel within the body" because this statement best explains how acupuncture reduces pain.

To support such answer, it must be noted that acupuncture is a traditional Chinese mode of pain-relieving through the insertion of extremely fine needles into the skin at specific points in the body known as "acupoints". This may relieve pain by releasing the hormone known as endorphins (happy hormone), which is the body's natural pain-killers and by affecting the brain part that governs serotonin- brain chemical which involved mood.
