To solve for x we apply quadratic formula

$x^2 - 6x + 58 = 0$

quadratic formula is

$x= \frac{-b+-\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}$

From the given equation

a=1 , b=-6 and c= 58

Plug in all the values in the formula

$x= \frac{-(-6)+-\sqrt{(-6)^2-4(1)(58)}}{2(1)}$

$x= \frac{6+-\sqrt{-196}}{2}$

square root (-1) is 'i'

$x= \frac{6+-14i}{2}$

We will get two values for x

$x= \frac{6+14i}{2}=3+7i$

$x= \frac{6-14i}{2}=3-7i$

So x= 3+7i  , x= 3-7i
