Step-by-step explanation:

Technically, you can work without the area of the square considering that you only need the triangles area. In order, to find the triangles area, you need to multiply the base times the height then divide by two. The area of the triangle equals to half of the sum of base times the height or:

A of Triangle = 1/2 bh

So, in this problem, b equals 13  and h equals 6 1/2 which can be converted to 6.5.

13 x 6.5 = 84.5

84.5 divided by 2 = 42.25

42.25 converted into a fraction is 169/4, but your answer box seems to be for a whole number; not a fraction.

So for triangles, remember:

A = 1/2 bh

And for the rectangle in this equation:

H: 6 1/2

W: 13

6 1/2 x 13 = 169/2 or 84 1/2

Just remember A (Area) = h (height) x w (width)

Steve paid 10% tax on a purchase of $40. Select the dollar amount of the tax and the total dollar amount Steve paid.
marta [7]
Amount of purchase that Steve made = $40
Percentage of tax that Steve needs to pay = 10%
Then
Amount of tax that Steve needs to pay for the purchase = (10/100) * 40
                                                                                          = 1 * 4 dollars
                                                                                          = 4 dollars
Then
The total amount including tax
that Steve needs to pay for the purchase = (40 + 4) dollars
                                                                   = 44 dollars
So the dollar amount of tax that Steve had to pay is $4 and the total amount that Steve had to pay was $44.

In a company, 37‰ of the 1500 employees are female. how many are male?
Mashcka [7]

Answer:

945 males

Step-by-step explanation:

1500*37/100= 555 female

1500-555 = 945 male

Because 1500 is the total number so it is eual a 100% and you do the cross multiply. You will get 555 for female. And you use the total to subtract female employees and you will get male employees number.
