The history of the clarinet is a long history beginning in 1690. During that year a man named Johann Cristoph Denner invented the clarinet. These clarinets only had two keys that were mostly made from brass along with the springs. It is commonly used in almost every type of music from classical to chamber, to jazz. Some well known clarinet players were Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw and Woody Herman. These famous clarinet players were the bandleader/clarinetists that rocked the world during the big-band era.
