If heat is released from water, what phase change occurs?

Chemistry

Explanation:

It is known that in order to break the bonds in a substance we need to provide it heat energy. Hence, energy will be absorbed by the molecules then and they will move far apart from each other.

Due to this solid state of water will change into liquid state.

On further heating, liquid state of water will change into vapor state.

But when liquid state of water will change into solid state then water molecules need to release energy due to which there occurs decrease in their kinetic energy.

Hence, the molecules will come closer to each other. As a result, liquid state of water will change into solid state (ice).

Thus, we can conclude that if heat is released from water, then phase change occurs from liquid to solid.

Help pls!!
ankoles [38]

Answer:

C, physical change

Explanation:

take a look at the equation. Next to each form of water do you see the little (g) and (l)? These represent the state of matter the water is in. So, the water is going from a gas to a liquid. The chemical compound is the same so its a physical change, not chemical, and it is reversible. You could change the liquid water back to the gas through evaporation. Endothermic has literally nothing to do with this equation so you can easily eliminate that answer choice.

How many grams of CO are needed to react with an excess of Fe2O3 to produce (210.3 g Fe) 209.7 g Fe? Show your work.
Fed [463]

Explanation:

3CO(g)+Fe_2O_3(s)\rightarrow 2Fe(s)+3CO_2(g)

1)Mass of CO when 210.3 g of Fe produced.

Number of moles of Fe in 210.3 g=

\frac{\text{Given mass of Fe}}{\text{Molar mass of Fe}}

=\frac{210.3}{55.84 g/mol}=3.76 mol

According to reaction, 2 moles of Fe are obtained from 3 moles of CO, then 3.76 moles of Fe will be obtained from : \frac{3}{2}\times 3.76 moles of CO that is 5.64 moles.

Mass of CO in 5.64 moles =

\text{Number of moles}\times \text{molar mass of CO}=5.46\times 28 g/mol=157.92 g

2)Mass of CO when 209.7 g of Fe produced.

Number of moles of Fe in 209.7 g=

\frac{\text{Given mass of Fe}}{\text{Molar mass of Fe}}

=\frac{209.7}{55.84 g/mol}=3.75 mol

According to reaction, 2 moles of Fe are obtained from 3 moles of CO, then 3.75 moles of Fe will be obtained from : \frac{3}{2}\times 3.75 moles of CO that is 5.625 moles.

Mass of CO in 5.625 moles =

\text{Number of moles}\times \text{molar mass of CO}=5.625\times 28 g/mol=157.5 g

Atoms are composed of a central nucleus which is surrounded by orbiting
ad-work [718]

Answer:

Atoms are composed of a central nucleus which is surrounded by orbiting <u>Electrons</u>.

Explanation:

The word Atom is derived from atomos meaning indivisible particle. An atom is a very small sized particle and its size is approximately 100 picometers.

Atoms are composed of a Nucleus which contains protons and neutrons and the nucleus is surrounded by orbiting electrons. Also, the nucleus is positively charged due to +ve protons and the electrons revolving around nucleus are -vely charged making overall atom neutral in nature.

Atoms react with another atoms due to the presence of valence electrons present in the valence shell of an atom. The valence electrons would make a covalent bond by mutually sharing the electrons or it may form an ionic bond by gaining and loosing valence electron.
