40 tickets were sold for a concert, some at 75 cents and the rest at $1.25. if the total raised was $42, how many had the cheape
Murljashka [212]

Answer:

34

Step-by-step explanation:

$1.25 = 125 cents.

$42 = 4200 cents

Tickets sold at 75 cents = x

Tickets sold at 125 cents = y

x + y = 40

75x + 125y = 4200

Multiply the first equation by 75

75x + 75y = 3000

75x + 125y = 4200

Subtract the the second equation from the first.

75x + 75y = 3000

- 75x + 125y = 4200

-------------------------------

0 - 150y = - 1200

Divide both sides by - 150

-150y/-150 = -1200/-150

y = 8

Substitute y = 8 into the first equation

x + y = 42

x + 8 = 42

x = 42 - 8

x = 34

34 tickets were sold for 75 cents

8 tickets were sold for $1.25

Find the midpoint of the segment with the given endpoints. (9,9) and (-1,- 3)
GenaCL600 [577]

Answer: (4, 3)

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for coordinate of the mid point is given as :

Mid point = (\frac{x_{2}+x_{1}}{2} , \frac{y_{2}+y_{1}}{2} )

x_{1} = 9

x_{2} = -1

y_{1} = 9

y_{2} = -3

Substituting the values into the formula , we have :

Mid-point = (\frac{-1+9}{2} , \frac{-3+9}{2} )

Mid-point = ( \frac{8}{2} , \frac{6}{2} )

Mid - point = ( 4 , 3)

Plz Help ASAP!
Rina8888 [55]
Part A:

From the graph, it seems that the lines intersect at (3,-1)... This seems to be the solution...

Part B:
g(x) is a negative line, and the slope is 2 (from rise/run). Y int. = 5. So, the equation is -2x+5. Plug in some numbers for this; say 1 and 2. The coordinates would be (1,3) and (2,1).

Part C:
The 2 graphs seem to intersect at (0,5), so this is the solution...

ALL of this is based on only looking at the graph, which is no better than drawing lines on the sand.. For example, the y intercept for g(x) could be 4.9 or 5.1, and I don't know the equation for f(x)... Based on the info I have,  gave my best answers..

Hope this helps..
