We should know the slope formula:

m=$\frac{y2- y1}{x2-x1}$

Now plug in the points accordingly:
=$\frac{-1-4}{1-(-4)}$
=$\frac{-5}{5}$

It can be simplified further:
$\frac{-5}{5}$ = -1

Slope of the line that passes through (-4,4)  and (1,-1) is -1
