The anatomy and physiology instructor is explaining a cell-mediated response to the pre-nursing students. What actions would the
instructor explain occur in a cell-mediated response?a) T-cell lymphocytes survey proteins in the body and attack the invading antigens.b) Toxins of invading antigens are neutralized.c) The invading antigens precipitate.d) The invading antigens link together (agglutination).a) T-cell lymphocytes survey proteins in the body and attack the invading antigens.
a) T-cell lymphocytes survey proteins in the body and attack the invading antigens
Explanation:
T-cell lymphocytes are involved in cell mediated immunity. When a pathogen enters the body its is engulfed by an antigen presenting cell (APC) like macrophage or dendritic cell which breaks it down into smaller antigenic fragments. The APCs present these antigens with the help of Major Histocompatibility Complexes (MHCs) on their surface. When a T cell comes in contact with these APCs, it gets activated to either cytotoxic T cell (Tc) or helper T cell ( Th). Tc are responsible for triggering apoptosis to destroy the pathogen infected cell directly. Th release cytokines and stimulate more Tc cells. They also stimulate other immune system cells like Natural Killer cells.
If yards lost is plotted at A to the left of zero indicating a loss, then B will be plotted to the right by the same distance, so B+(-A)=B-A=0, because A and B have opposite values.
