The surface area of a cube is 6s^2  (6 times the area of one side)

In this case s=2.5+.5+.5=3.5

A=6(3.5)^2

A=73.5 in^2

 The formula for area is length times height. If you add 1/2 to 2.5 for each of the boxes, you will be adding a total of 1 to the smallest in order to get the area of the largest. If you add 1 to 2.5, you get 3.5. Multiply 3.5 times 3.5, you get 12.25. That is how you get the answer.

Identifying the values a, b, and c is the first step in using the Quadratic Formula to find solution(s) to a quadratic equation.
MatroZZZ [7]

Answer:

To find a b and c in a quadratic equation, the x^2 number is a, so 7x^2 is your a value, your b value is just the x, so your b value is -9, and your c value is the regular number, which is 18.  a=7x^2 b=-9x c = 18.  So your answer is answer B.

Find the vertical and horizontal asympotote for (×-2) (×+3)/ (2×+2)
nekit [7.7K]

\bf \cfrac{(x-2)(x+3)}{2x+2}\implies \cfrac{x^2+x-6}{2x+2}~~ \begin{array}{llll} \leftarrow \textit{2nd degree polynomial}\\ \leftarrow \textit{1st degree polynomial} \end{array} \\\\[-0.35em] ~\dotfill\\\\ \stackrel{\textit{vertical asymptote}}{2x+2=0}\implies 2x=-2\implies x=-\cfrac{2}{2}\implies x=-1

when the degree of the numerator is greater than the denominator's, then it has no horizontal asymptotes.

quick note:

when the degree of the numerator is 1 higher than the degree of the denominator, then it has an slant-asymptote, so this one has a slant-asymptote.

A container at a bulk foods store is shaped like a cylinder with a diameter of 17 inches and a height of 25 inches.
ycow [4]

area \: of \: cylinder = \pi {r}^{2} h
Diameter = 17 inches
Radius = 17/2 = 8.5 inches
Height = 25 inches
So area = 3.14×8.5^2×25
= 5671.625 cubic inch
By rounding it'll be 5672 cubic inch
