Let
X is the amount invested at 0.12
Y is the amount invested at 0.11
x+y=27727....First equation
0.12x-0.11y=211.32...second equation
multiply both sides of the first equation by 0.11 to get
0.11x+0.11y=3,049.97
0.12x-0.11y=211.32
add these equations together we will get
0.23x=3,261.29
Divide both sides by 0.23 to get
X=14,179.52 this is the amount invested at 0.12

Now the amount invested at 0.11 is
27727-14179.52=13,547.48

Check your answer using the second equation
14,179.52×0.12−13,547.48×0.11
=211.32. Correct

Use the Commutative Property to write an expression equivalent to -5d + 6
Ludmilka [50]

Answer:

6 - 5d is an expression equivalent to -5d + 6 using the commutative Property of Addition.

Step-by-step explanation:

Commutative Property of Addition

We know that we can add two numbers in any order.

For example,

Let 'a' and 'b' be two numbers.

We can add  'a' and 'b' numbers in any order, such as

a + b = b + a

Thus,

a + b = b + a is represented using the commutative Property of Addition.

In our case,

-5d + 6 can be written or represented using the commutative Property of Addition, such as

-5d + 6 = 6 - 5d

It is clear that -5d + 6 can be written in any order such as 6 - 5d.

In other words, 6 - 5d is an expression equivalent to -5d + 6 using the commutative Property of Addition.

Therefore, 6 - 5d is an expression equivalent to -5d + 6 using the commutative Property of Addition.

Given the two options above, in order to come up with the best plan we have to calculate the future value of money in each plan.
compound interest is given by:FV=p(1+ \frac{r}{100})^n

Option 1
p=$500
r=2%=0.02
t=1 year
FV=500(1+0.02)^1=$510

Option 2
p=$500
r=2/12=1/6
n=1*12=12
hence:
FV=500(1+\frac{ \frac{1}{6}}{100})^{12}

=$509.09
Comparing the two plans above, option 1 is the best.

b] Option 1 is the best because she will secure $510 as compared to option 2 which has interest rate that reduces her amount by $1 after one year due to annual charges. The total amount of money she will have at the end of the plan is $510.

Lena [83]

This can be solve by just dividing the total money that prince paid to kathy by the yearly dividend per share of stock. Since prince waste collection pays kathy $46,926.54 in dividends every year and divide it by $14.94. so kathy owns 3141 share of stocks
