Y = x² + 3      just put where it belongs to see which one is a solution to it.

10 = -3² + 3    (-3, 10)
10 = 9 + 3
10 = 12         not a solution because it doesn't equal the same in both sides.

8 = 2² + 3       (2, 8)
8 = 4 + 3
8 = 7             not a solution.

12 = 3² + 3     (3, 12)
12 = 9 + 3
12 = 12         a solution.

22 = 5² + 3     (5, 22)
22 = 25 + 3
22 = 28         not a solution.

so your answer is (3, 12).

hope this helps, God bless!

A tank containing 64 gallons lost 6 1/4% of this through leakage how much is remaining is the tank
jolli1 [7]

if we take 64 to be the 100%, how much is 6¼% off of it?

\bf \begin{array}{ccll} amount&\%\\ \cline{1-2} 64&100\\ x&6\frac{1}{4} \end{array}\implies \cfrac{64}{x}=\cfrac{100}{6\frac{1}{4}}\implies \cfrac{64}{x}=\cfrac{\frac{100}{1}}{\frac{25}{4}}\implies \cfrac{64}{x}=\cfrac{100}{1}\cdot \cfrac{4}{25} \\\\\\ \cfrac{64}{x}=16\implies 64=16x\implies \cfrac{64}{16}=x\implies 4=x \\\\[-0.35em] ~\dotfill\\\\ \stackrel{\textit{it had}}{64}-\stackrel{\textit{leakage}}{4}\implies \stackrel{\textit{remaining}}{60}

7,676 rounded to the hundred
Tresset [83]
7,676 rounded to the nearest hundredth is: 7,700.

You are focusing on the 7676. If the 7 on the right of it has a number below five, then it would be 7600. On this hand, with it being more than 5, the correct answer is 7,700.
