Complete Question: Classify the following data. Indicate whether the data is quantitative or quantitative, Gender is an example of which type of data here, discrete, continuous, or neither and indicate the level of measurement for the data. Fifty people were asked to respond to a survey question regarding how frequently they used their credit card. The categories they were asked to choose from are given below: Infrequently Sometimes Frequently. 1). Are these data quantitative or quantitative? 2). Are these data discrete or continuous or Neither ?3). What is the highest level of measurement the data possesses? Nominal, Ordinal, Interval, or Ratio

Answer: is the data is Qualitative, the data is neither (data not shown) discrete nor continuous, and finally the the level of measurement of data is ordinal. Lastly

1). What is Quantitative and Qualitative data: Quantitative data includes large groups of people usually in hundreds or thousands, collecting data by structured questionnaire technique that consists of forced choice and closed ended questions. While on the other hand, Qualitative data includes small group and conduct the research in the form of in-person or focus groups, phone interviews and detailed surveys. Qualitative technique is more precise and in depth kind of technique.

2). The option is neither, which means gender (male or female) is not specified. Insufficient information is given of the people's gender.

  • Continuous data ( data that can be divided and reduced to more precise level for example measurements)
  • Discrete data ( this form of data includes integers, which means the count cannot be made more accurate for example counts)

3). Level of measurement of data: There are four types of data levels of measurements namely;

  • Nominal
  • Ordinal
  • Interval
  • Ratio

Ordinal level of measurement: In an ordinal level of measurement, data is specified in order form which means the ordinal level of measurement shows an ordering of the measurements. For example, In a class of 20 students, the student who got the highest marks in the exam stood 1st rank in the class then the student who got second highest marks stood 2nd rank in the class and so on. The students got their ranks order wise according to the marks they obtained.

The loan amount (principal) is $50,000 and the annual interest paid is $5,500. What is the annual interest rate
Mumz [18]

Answer:

The interest rate is 11%

Explanation:

The loan amount = $50000

Interest amount = $5500

Since the annual interest amount and the principal amount is given so we have to find the interest rate by using the given information. Below is the formula to find the interest rate.

Let the interest rate = x

Principal × interest rate = Interest amount

$50000 × r = $5500

r  = $5500 / $50000

r = 0.11 or 11%

The interest rate is 11%

Maxwell Feed & Seed is considering a project that has the following cash flow data. What is the project's IRR? Note that a p
Kay [80]

Answer:

13.31%

Explanation:

some information is missing:

Year        Cash flows

0              −$1,100

1                  $450

2                 $470

3                 $490

the easiest way to calculate the IRR is by using a financial calculator, IRR = 13.31%

but if we don't have one at hand, the IRR is the discount rate at which a project's NPV = 0

1,100 = 450/(1 + r) + 470/(1 + r)² + 490/(1 + r)³

to simplify the formula we must use trial and error:

since we already know the real IRR, I will start with a close number like 10%

1,100 = 450/(1 + 0.1) + 470/(1 + 0.1)² + 490/(1 + 0.1)³

1,100 = 409.09 + 388.43 + 368.14

1,100 ≠ 1,165.66

since the NPV is still positive, we must increase the discount rate. following the example we can use 12%

1,100 = 450/(1 + 0.12) + 470/(1 + 0.12)² + 490/(1 + 0.12)³

1,100 = 401.79 + 374.68 + 348.77

1,100 ≠ 1,125.24

we must increase the discount rate even more to 13%

1,100 = 450/(1 + 0.13) + 470/(1 + 0.13)² + 490/(1 + 0.13)³

1,100 = 398.23 + 368.08 + 339.59

1,100 ≠ 1,105.90

we keep increasing the discount rate to 14%

1,100 = 450/(1 + 0.14) + 470/(1 + 0.14)² + 490/(1 + 0.14)³

1,100 = 394.74 + 361.65 + 330.74

1,100 ≠ 1,087.13

since now the NPV is negative, the discount rate must be between 13-14%

we continue this way until we finally reach 13.31%
