As a whole, plants tend to release more oxygen than carbon dioxide into the environment, but the ratios of gases differ at vario

us times of the day. Plants tend to take in more carbon dioxide during the day and release more oxygen. At night, they tend to take in more oxygen and excrete more carbon dioxide. How does the model support this phenomenon?

Answer:

PLATO SAMPLE ANSWER:

As shown in the diagram, the process of photosynthesis requires carbon dioxide for the chemical reaction, and oxygen is one of the products formed. Because photosynthesis requires the Sun, plants can do it only during the day when the Sun is out. During the day, some of the CO2 produced by plants during cellular respiration will be used for photosynthesis. At night, plants can only perform cellular respiration. So, the CO2 excreted during this process will be excreted by the plant.

During the day, due to the presence of sunlight, the process of photosynthesis peaks over that of respiration. Photosynthesis uses carbon dioxide to make carbohydrates releasing oxygen as a byproduct. During the night, because there is no sunlight, the rate of photosynthesis drops. This, therefore, causes the rate of respiration to surpasses the rate of photosynthesis. In respiration, oxygen is consumed and carbon dioxide is released.

Insect wings may have begun to evolve as lateral extensions of the body that were used as heat dissipaters for thermoregulation.
Mariulka [41]

Exaptation

Explanation:

In this example, the lateral extensions that developed were meant for thermoregulation.

But these became sufficiently large to support gliding through the air and later on were used for flight.

Thus the structure assumed a function for which it was not meant and its original function shifted to a completely different dimension giving rise to modern insect wings. So we can say that this is an example of Exaptation.

Which hazard has occurred when you are working in a grain bin and you stand on or below the “bridged” grain, causing it to colla
FinnZ [79.3K]

<span>Suffocation is a most leading reason of death in grain storage bins. Grain handling industry is a high hazard industry where workers can be exposed to numerous serious and life threatening hazards. These hazards include: fires and explosions from grain dust accumulation, suffocation from engulfment and entrapment in grain bins, falls from heights and crushing injuries and amputations from grain handling equipment.  </span>

What processes occur during G2 phase? Choose all which apply.
Inessa [10]

Explanation:

the last part of interphase is called the G2 phase. The cell has grown, DNA has been replicated, and now the cell is almost ready to divide. This last stage is all about prepping the cell for mitosis or meiosis. During G2, the cell has to grow some more and produce any molecules it still needs to divide.

How many atp are produced by cellular respiration of one molecule of glucose?
Rom4ik [11]

Answer:

38 ATP.

Explanation:

Biology textbooks often state that 38 ATP molecules can be made per oxidized glucose molecule during cellular respiration (2 from glycolysis, 2 from the Krebs cycle, and about 34 from the electron transport system).
