Chetan makes a necklace for his sister. Twelve beads take up 5 inches of string. How many beas fit on 1 foot of string

Find the amount of beads per inch:
12/5 = 2.4 (this doesn't make sense, but it will)
Now find the total beads on one foot, or 12 inches
2.4 x 12 = 28.8
Since 29 wont fit, 28 will be the largest whole number of beads that can fit on the string

An equation is shown below: 3(4x − 2) = 1 Which of the following correctly shows the first two steps to solve this equation?
Svetlanka [38]

Answer:

3(4x − 2) = 1

4x − 2 = 1/3

4x = 1/3 + 2

4x = 1/3 + 6/3

4x = 7/3

x = 7/12

kendra knits hats. She starts with 3 3/4 yd of yarn. After knitting for 5 1/4 h their is 1 1/8 yd of yarn left. At what rate doe
nadezda [96]

Answer:

The rate is  1 ÷ 2 yards per hour

Step-by-step explanation:

The computation of the rate does the amount of yarn changes is given below:

= 3 3 ÷ 4 - 1 1 ÷8

= 15 ÷ 4 - 9 ÷ 8

= 21 ÷ 8 yards

 Now divide the above fraction by the number of hours

= 21 ÷ 8 yards ÷ 5 1 ÷ 4

= 21 ÷ 8 ×  4 ÷ 21

= 1 ÷ 2 yards per hour

Hence, the rate is  1 ÷ 2 yards per hour

Solve the quadratic.<br><br><br> 4x^2+4-20=0<br><br><br><br><br> brainlist if you explain
frez [133]

Answer:

  • x = -1/2(1 +√21) ≈ -2.79129
  • x = -1/2(1 -√21) ≈ 1.79129

Step-by-step explanation:

We assume the middle term is supposed to be 4x.

We can remove a common factor of 4 to simplify this a bit.

  x^2 +x -5 = 0

This is of the form

  ax^2 +bx +c = 0

where a=1, b=1, c=-5.

__

The <em>quadratic formula</em> gives the solutions as ...

  x=\dfrac{-b\pm\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}

Filling in the given coefficients, we have ...

  x = (-1 ±√(1^2 -4·1·(-5)))/(2·1)

  x = (-1±√21)/2

The solutions are x = -1/2(1 +√21) and -1/2(1 -√21).

_____

<em>If what you wrote is what you intend</em>, then the equation simplifies to 4x^2 -16 = 0.

Dividing by 4 and factoring the difference of squares gives ...

  x^2 -4 = 0

  (x -2)(x +2) = 0

These factors are zero (hence their product is 0) for the values x = 2 and x = -2.

The solutions are x=2 and x=-2.

if you’re good with set theory in math 30 please help with questions 31 and 32!! real answers only !!
GREYUIT [131]

Answer:  31) d     32) c

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

31)

A = {1, 3, 5, 15}

B = {2, 3, 5, 7}

A ∪ B = {1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 15}

C = {2, 4, 6, 8}

(A ∪ B) ∩ C = {1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 15} ∩ {2, 4, 6, 8} = {2}

<em>2 is the only number in both sets</em>

32)

The pattern is: reflection, add symbol, ..., reflection, add symbol.

The last image shown is: add symbol

So the next image will be: reflection (flipped to the left)
