5x - 4y = 12
-4y = -5x + 12
y = 5/4x - 3....slope here is 5/4. A parallel line will have the same slope

y = mx + b
slope(m) = 5/4
(0,-15)....x = 0 and y = -15
now we sub and find b, the y int
-15 = 5/4(0) + b
-15 = b

so ur parallel equation is : y = 5/4x - 15
