In a large population, about 10% of people do not like the taste of cilantro, an herb used in cooking. A researcher takes a rand
bogdanovich [222]

Answer:

0.0019390

Step-by-step explanation:

10% of people do not like the taste of cilantro

A researcher takes a random sample of 15 people and surveys whether they like cilantro

Use the binomial distribution to compute the probability that exactly 6 of the people in the sample do not like cilantro.

Probability of success = 0.10 = p

Probability of failure = 0.9 =q

n = 15

r = 6

Formula : P(X=r)=^nC_rp^r q^{n-r}

P(X=6)=^{15}C_6 (0.1)^6 (0.9)^{15-6}

P(X=6)=\frac{15!}{6!(15-6)!} (0.1)^6 (0.9)^{15-6}

P(X=6)=0.0019390

Hence  the probability that exactly 6 of the people in the sample do not like cilantro is 0.0019390

What is the length of the radius of a circle with a center at 2 – i and a point on the circle at 8 + 7i?
AlladinOne [14]
We need to find a distance between this to points.
D=√((x2-x1)²+(y2-y1)²)

For complex plain, the real part of the complex number plays a role of x,
and  number of an imaginary part plays a role of y.
So,
D=√((8-2)² +(7+1)²)√ = √(36+64)=√(100)=10
Answer is D.10

One number is four times another number and their difference is 24 find the numbers
Ivan
Well if you think about it, you are given 2 equations. lets say the 2 numbers ar x and y

it says one number that we willl call y is 4 times another number we will call x. so:
y = 4 * x

the other part says their difference is 24. well y has to be the larger number sincenit is 4 times x. so:
y - x = 24

in the first part i said y = 4x so i know what y equals. i can plug this into thenother equation like this
y - x = 24
(4x) - x = 24
3x = 24
x = 8

i have x. i can plug this in first equation to find y
y = 4x
y = 4 (8)
y = 32

we can checj by plugging in x and y to both equations. if it matches we are.good

y = 4x
32 = 4 (8)
32 = 32

y - x = 24
(32) - (8) = 24
24 = 24

it all works out

Fill in the blanks to complete this proof of theorem 2-3.
Basile [38]

Answer:

Therefore.

angle 1 is congruent to angle 3 ...Proved

The proof with steps are below with Fill in the blanks

Step-by-step explanation:

Complementary Angles:

Two angles are Complementary when they add up to 90 degrees.

Example 40° and 50° are Complementary Angles.

If 'x' and 'y' are Complementary Angles the we have

x+y=90\°

Here,

Given:

angle 1 and angle 2 are complementary

angle 3 and angle 2 are complementary

To Prove:

angle 1 is congruent to angle 3

Proof:

Step 1:

angle 1 and angle 2 are complementary and angle 3 and angle 2 are complementary because it is Given.

Step 2:

By the definition of complementary angles,

m of angle 1 + m of angle 2 = _90°__ and m of angle 3 + m of angle 2 = _90°_.

Step 3:

Transitive Property of Equality.

Then m of angle 1 + m of angle 2 = m of angle 3 + m of angle 2 by the Transitive Property of Equality.

Step 4:

Subtract m of angle 2 from each side. By the Subtraction Property of Equality, you get

m\angle 1 +m\angle 2-m\angle 2=m\angle 3+m\angle 2-m\angle 2

m\angle 1=m\angle 3

m of angle 1 = _measure of angle_3_.

Step 5:

Angles with the same measure are _Congruent__,

Step 6:

so angle 1 is congruent to angle 3.

Therefore.

angle 1 is congruent to angle 3 ...Proved
