A cat with LONG HAIR (heterozygous) is a carrier of the short hair allele. Its mate has SHORT HAIR. Use a Punnett Square to dete
Helen [10]

Answer:

50%

Explanation:

Hi there!

We are given the hair types of two cats

The first one has long hair, and it's heterozygous, meaning it has one dominant, and one recessive allele. We are given that it is a carrier of the short hair allele, meaning in its genotype, it has the short hair gene (that doesn't necessarily mean it's there in its phenotype). However, since it has long hair (genotype), that means that the long hair allele is dominant (the gene that will always show), and the short haired one is recessive (the gene that gets "covered up" by the dominant allele). Let's say the genotype of the long haired cat is Tt, where T is the long hair, and t is the short hair

The second cat has short hair, and as we have mentioned above, the allele for short hair is recessive, so the short haired cat has 2 copies of the short hair allele. Its genotype is tt

Please see below for the Punnett Square

Hope this helps! :)

How are predation and competition essential for maintaining a thriving ecosystem?
Elis [28]

Answer:

Both of these are necessary to maintain overpopulation of any species in an ecosystem.

Explanation:

 • Predation is an act in which one organism eats another organism present in the ecosystem.

 • The one eaten is called prey, while the dominant organism is called Predator.

 • Since an ecosystem is made up of many organisms along with the natural resources present in it.

 • This gives rise to different species competing against one another.

 • If one of these species is at a certain advantage, their population will rise uncontrollably hence to prevent this a predator plays a major role.

 • On the other hand, competition is a term which describes the harm caused to two different organisms.

 • This is due to the limited number of natural resources like food, water or shelter etc.

 • Organisms who are less likely to adapt according to the changing environment ultimately die.

 • For example, Plant roots over time lessen the amount of nitrogen present in the soil, causing the neighboring plant to die.

I don't know what your key vocabulary is..., but this is your answer!!

When the amplitude of a sound wave increases, the intensity of the sound increases therefore the sound seems louder but does not change the pitch.

Therefore, if you increase the amplitude of the sound wave(s) of your cell phone ring, it will still sound the same yet louder.

For example, think of when you are increasing the volume on your phone... You are increasing the amplitude of your phone's speaker sound wave and whatever you were tuning in to would sound louder but would stay the same. It wouldn't go from a robot to a kitty sound now. Same concept happens when you decrease the volume on your phone yet this time you are decreasing the amplitude of a sound wave(s) and it gets softer.

~~

I hope that helps you out!!

Any more questions, please feel free to ask me and I will gladly help you out!!
