Kathleen had a bag of candy-coated chocolates. Of the 55 candies in the bag, 20% were red, 30% were orange, 30% were green, and

20% were blue. Of the blue ones, 10% had a damaged candy coating. Approximately how many of the blue ones had a damaged candy coating?

Since there are 55 candies in the bag, and there are 20% of blue candies, it would look like this:

55 x 0.20 = 11

Now that we have 11, you multiply it by the damage coating, so

11 x 0.10 = 1.1

So 20% is 1/5 and 1/5 of 55 is 11. That means there are in total 11 blue candies if 1/5 of them is damaged then technically 2.2 of them are which is kinda weird as it doesn't give whole number
