The first battlefields tanks were used by the British on the Somme River on September 15, 1916, and shortly afterwards, on April 24, 1918, the first "battle" took place between the tanks, in which the German A7V and the British Mark IV exchanged fire.
Although slow, mechanically unreliable and boxy in design at the time, they changed the warfare forever.
In addition to tanks, the first self-propelled guns and armored personnel carriers were created.
