A school is planning an event to raise 1000 for charity. The cost of organizing the event is 200. The tickets are priced at 6 pe

r child and 8 per adult if x children and y adults attend the even, the equation that represents the total revenue that the organizers must collect from ticket sales to raise the targeted amount of 1000 after paying for the 200 in expenses is (blank). If the even were only for adults (blank) adults would have to attend for the organizers to raise the targeted amount.

x = amount of children attended the event

y = amount of adults attended the event

they want to raise $1000, and the organizing costs $200, so the revenue, incoming capital, must be 1000 + 200, so the cost is covered and they're left with the $1000 they're after.

since is $6 per child, and "x" children went to it, they total amount of revenue from the ticket sales for all children is 6*x, or 6x.

since is $8 per adult, and "y" adults went to it, they total amount of revenue from the ticket sales for all adults is 8*y, or 8y.

6x + 8y = 1200.

if the event were attended by only adults, then 8y = 1200.

\bf 8y=1200\implies y=\cfrac{1200}{8}\implies y=150

Answer:

a) 1200

b) 150

Step-by-step explanation:

a) total revenue = target amount + expenses

... total revenue = 1000 + 200

... total revenue = 1200

b) total revenue = adult tickets × adult ticket price

... 1200 = adult tickets × 8 . . . . . . . . . . fill in the information you know

... 1200/8 = adult tickets = 150 . . . . . divide by 8

Solve the following system of equations for a and for b:
viktelen [127]

Answer:

a=3\\b=1

Step-by-step explanation:

9a+3b=30\\8a+4b=28

Let's solve the second equation for a to later on replace it in the first equation.

8a+4b=28\\8a=28-4b\\a=\frac{28-4b}{8}

Now plug this into the first equation.

9a+3b=30\\9(\frac{28-4b}{8})+3b=30

Distribute the 9

(\frac{252-36b}{8}) +3b=30

Break down the fraction.

\frac{252}{8}-\frac{36b}{8}+3b=30

Simplify.

\frac{63}{2}-\frac{9}{2}b+3b=30

Subtract \frac{63}{2}

-\frac{9}{2}b+3b=30-\frac{63}{2}

Combine like terms.

\frac{-9+2*3}{2}b=\frac{30*2-63}{2}

\frac{-9+6}{2}b=\frac{60-63}{2}

\frac{-3}{2}b=\frac{-3}{2}

Muliply by the reciprocal or inverted fraction next to b.

(-\frac{2}{3})(-\frac{3}{2}) b=-\frac{3}{2}(-\frac{2}{3})

b=1

Now plug this value into any of the equations to find the value of a.

8a+4b=28\\8a+4(1)=28\\8a+4=28\\8a=28-4\\8a=24\\a=\frac{24}{8}\\ a=3

6y^2-25y+14 factor <br><br> Help please
LUCKY_DIMON [66]

Answer:

(3y - 2)(2y - 7)

Step-by-step explanation:

To factorise the quadratic

Consider the factors of the product of the coefficient of the y² term and the constant term which sum to give the coefficient of the y- term

Product = 6 × 14 = 84 and sum = - 25

The required factors are - 4 and - 21

Use these factors to split the y- term

6y² - 4y - 21y + 14 ( factor the first/second and third/fourth terms )

2y(3y - 2) - 7(3y - 2) ← factor out (3y - 2) from each term

= (3y - 2)(2y - 7) ← in factored form
