Two of the most dangerous animals in the enchanted forest are snakes and bears. The population of bears began with 100 bears in

the year 2000 and increases at a rate of 4 bears per year. The population of snakes began at 1 snake in the year 2000 and doubles every year.
Do you think the population of snakes will ever catch up to the population of bears? Why or why not?
If you answered yes, how many years do you think it would take for snakes to outnumber bears?

Answer:

Yes

IT WILL TAKE 8 YEARS.

Step-by-step explanation:

Bear starting population = 100

Bear population rate = 4 per year

Snake starting population = 1

Snake population rate = doubles every year

Bear population model:

y = 4x+100

Where y = new bear population

x = number of years after year 2000

Snake population model :

y = 2^x

Where y = new snake population

x = number of years after year 2000

THE POPULATION OF SNAKES WILL CATCH UP WITH THAT OF BEARS BECAUSE AFTER 7 YEARS THE POPULATION WILL BE EVEN.

After 7 years :

Bear population :

y = 4x + 100

y = 4(7) + 100 = 128

y = 128

Snake population :

y = 2^x

y = 2^7

y = 128

Using random guess in the both models :

After 8 years :

Bear population :

y = 4x + 100

y = 4(8) + 100 = 132

y = 132

Snake population :

y = 2^x

y = 2^8

y = 256

Answer:The slope is 6/7

Step-by-step explanation:

when finding the slope you will need to move the 6x to the other side of the equation by subtracting which gives you 7y=14-6x and all that is left is to divide by 7 which gives y=14-6/7y

A home that was built in 1980 has increased in value at a rate of 5% per year. It was originally sold for $75,000. What was it w
Nataly [62]

Answer: Your answer would be $168,750

First you need to get 5% of 75,000 which is 3750

Next you have to mutiply 3750 by 25 because 1980 to 2005 is 25 years.

Which will give you 93,750

Then you add 93,750 with 75000 which is what it got sold for and your answer will be $168,750

a water tank holds 992 gallons but is leaking at a rate of 5 gallons per week . a second water tank holds 1,240 gallons but is l
enot [183]

Answer:

62 week

Step-by-step explanation:

What we need is to represent the ratios in expression

For example if we have 992 gallons and the leaking is 5 gallons per week, the expression for the gallons after every week is

992-5x

x is the weeks

And the other case the expressions is

1240-9x

The question is the weeks for the amount being the same, then every equation can be equal to Y and it represent the same amount

992-5x=y

1240-9x=y

in both the y is the same, then

992-5x=1240-9x

992-1240=-9x+5x

-248=-4x

-248/-4=x

62=X

and that is the weeks we need for the amount being the same in both tanks
