When you lift a bowling ball with a force of 61.1 N, the ball accelerates upward with an acceleration a. If you lift with a forc

e of 70.9 N, the ball's acceleration is 2.07a. Calculate the weight of the bowling ball.

Answer:

the weight of the ball is w = 51.94 N ( mass = 5.3 kg)

Explanation:

Following Newton's second law:

net force = mass * acceleration = weight/gravity * acceleration

then denoting 1 and 2 as the first and second lift

F₁ - w= w/g *a₁

F₂ -w = w/g *a₂ = w/g * 2.07a

dividing both equations

(F₂- w)/(F₁ -w)= 2.07

(F₂- w) = 2.07 * (F₁ -w)

1.07*w = 2.07*F₁ - F₂

w = (2.07*F₁ - F₂ )/ 1.07

replacing values

w = (2.07*61.1 N - 70.9 N )/ 1.07  = 51.94 N

then the weight of the ball is w = 51.94 N ( mass = 5.3 kg)

kaheart [24]

Answer:

19.01 N

Explanation:

F = Force being applied to the crate = 45 N

\theta = Angle at which the force is being applied = 65^{\circ}

Horizontal component of force is given by

F_x=F\cos\theta\\\Rightarrow F_x=45\times \cos65^{\circ}\\\Rightarrow F_x=19.01\ \text{N}

The horizontal component of the force acting on the crate is 19.01 N.

Calculate the speed of an object having momentum 7.25 x 10^5 kg.m/s and mass 0.285 kg. Answer in units of m/s.
Olenka [21]

Answer:

speed is 25.43 85 x 10^5  m/s

Explanation:

momentum = 7.25 x 10^5 kg.m/s

mass = 0.285 kg

to find out

speed

solution

we have given mass and momentum so

to find speed we apply here momentum formula that is

momentum = mass × speed   ...................1

put here all value and find speed

speed = momentum / mass

speed = 7.25 x 10^5 / 0.285

speed = 2543859.649

so speed is 25.43 85 x 10^5  m/s
