Answer:

4.00m

Explanation:

at that instant where it is dropped all the mechanical energy is gpe which is 71.9

and the formula for gpe = mass (1.80) * height * gravitational field strength (i'm using 10 m/s2)

height of football stadium

= 71.9/[(1.80)(10)]

= 71.9/18.0

= 3.99444..

= 4.00 (3 sf)

As you watch the surfers right away towards the shoreline what is the shoreline
Sophie [7]
The shoreline would be your reference point.

A reference point, in physics, is some point in space used to illustrate the location or position of other things, relative to this reference point. So in this case, the shoreline is considered as the reference point to locate the position of the surfers.

An inexperienced catcher catches a 126 km/h fastball of mass 160 g within 1.36 ms, whereas an experienced catcher slightly retra
Firdavs [7]

Answer:

4117.65 N

Explanation:

Speed of ball, u = 126 km/h = 35 m/s

Mass of ball, m = 160 g = 0.16 kg

Time interval, t = 1.36 ms = 0.00136 s

We can calculate the force as a measure of the momentum of the ball:

F = P/t

Momentum, P, is given as:

P = mv

Therefore:

F = (mv) / t

F = (0.16 * 35) / (0.00136)

F = 4117.65 N

The force imparted to the two glove d hands of the inexperienced catcher is 4117.65 N.

A net force of 20 N acting on a wooden block produces an
Ymorist [56]

Answer:

From the second law of motion:

F = ma

we are given that the force applied on the block is 20N and the block accelerates at an acceleration of 4 m/s/s

So, F=  20N   and  a = 4 m/s/s

Replacing the variables in the equation:

20 = 4* m

m = 20 / 4

m = 5 kg

A 5.0-kg box rests on a horizontal surface. The coefficient of kinetic friction between the box and surface is ????K=0.50. A hor
blagie [28]

Answer:

a)W= 1 J

b)W= 1 J

c)W= 0 J

Explanation:

Given that

m = 5 kg

Coefficient of kinetic friction,K=0.5

d= 10 cm

We know that if velocity is constant it means that the acceleration of the system is zero.Or we can say that all forces are balance in the system.

We know that work is the dot product of force and displacement

W= F.d

The friction force on the box

Fr= K m g

Fr= 0.5 x 5 x 10 = 25 N                      ( take g =10 m/s²)

Fr=25 N

a)

Acceleration a= 0

So horizontal force F = Fr

W = Fr.d

W=10 x 0.1 J

W= 1 J

b)

The work done by friction force

W= 1 J

c)

The net force on the system is zero because acceleration is zero.

F= 0

So

W= 0 J

790 kilometers/hour for a distance of 4,700 kilometers
chubhunter [2.5K]

Answer:

Explanation:

Time = (distance) / (average speed)

Time = (4,700 km) / (790 km/hr) = 5.9494 hours (rounded)

                                                  = 5hrs 56min 58 sec (rounded)

    (4,700 km) / (1.609344 km/mile) = 2,920 miles

Speed = (distance covered) / (time to cover the distance)

                      (2,929 miles) / 5.9494 hours) =  491 miles per hour
