Hey there! Hello!

So, for this problem, there's one answer we can immediately figure out:

12-3=9

You can also make use of "counters," as shown in my first attachment. The large group has 9, while the small group has three. It represents a separation between the two amounts.

You can also make use of a number line. To subtract, start at 12, then go towards zero (or to the left) three times. This will give you your number.

Hope this helped! Feel free to ask me any additional questions if you have any. :-)

Alexxandr [17]

Answer:3 in. per yr

Step-by-step explanation:

Present height of Samantha is 40\frac{1}{2}=\frac{81}{2}

After next 5\frac{1}{2} years i.e. \frac{11}{2} years

she grew to 57\ inches

Increase in her height=57-\frac{81}{2}=16.5\ inches

Increase in height per year is =\frac{16.5}{5.5}=3\ in.\ per\ year

lord [1]

Answer:

28 bicycles

Step-by-step explanation:

In one week he will earn $120. This is guaranteed if he goes to work and is therefore the constant.

let x be the number of bicycles sold

P(x) = 10x + 120

400 = 10x + 120

280 = 10x

x = 28

He needs to sell 28 bicycles to earn $400 each week. He needs to sell ≥28 bicycles.

2x - y = 4<br>4x - 2y=8<br>please help me :''')
Advocard [28]

Answer:

y = 2x - 4

x = R

Step-by-step explanation:

\left \{ {{2x - y = 4} \atop {4x - 2y = 8}} \right.

1)

2x - y = 4

-y = -2x + 4

y = 2x - 4

2) to find x

replace y by 2x - 4 in the second equation

4x -2y = 8

4x -2(2x-4) = 8

4x -4x +8 = 8

4x -4x = 8-8

4x -4x = 0

0 = 0 ⇒ any number is possible for x
