Answer:

240 miles.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let a man travelled by an automobile=x miels

and a man travelled distance by an airpalne was 9 times the distance travelled by an automobile. Therefore, the expression is 9x.

According to question , total distance travelled in trip is equal to 600 miles .

Therefore , the expression for this x+9x=600

Hence,10x=600

implies that x=600/10

x=60

Distance travel by an automobile is 60 miles .

therefore ,the man distance travel =9*60=540.

Since it's a right triangle you can use the Pythagorean theorem or Trig (Soh Cah Toa).

I'll just use the Pythagorean theorem : a² + b² = c²
a = 9
b = x
c = 18

9² + x² = 18²
81 + x² = 324
x² = 324 - 81
x² = 243
x = √(243)

factor 243 to find a perfect square

x = √(3*81)
x = 9√(3)

The first four terms of an arithmetic sequence are -11,-5,1,7. what is the equation for an
mr_godi [17]

Answer:

y = 6x - 11

Step-by-step explanation:

An arithmetic sequence is a linear function. This means it steadily increases or decreases through addition/subtraction by a constant amount. Here the sequence grows by adding 6 each time.

-11 + 6 = -5

-5 + 6 = 1

1 + 6 = 7

etc....

Since this is linear, its equation has the form y = mx + b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept. The slope is m = 6 and b = -11.

y = 6x - 11

A little help here?

Whats the value of X?
zubka84 [21]
You’d add 65+79 to get 144 then subtract that from 180 and get 36 so X would be 36 :) hope this helped!

If f(x)=3x and g(x)=1/x, what is the domain of (g o f)(x)?
Neko [114]

Here it is given that f(x)=3x and g(x)=1/x

We have to find the domain of (g o f)(x)

Now it is given that f(x) = 3x

and it is also given that g(x) = 1/x

so (g o f)(x) = g( f(x) ) = g( 3x )

which comes out to be 1 / 3x

The domain of the expression is all the real numbers except where the expression is undefined so the domain of the given expression is all real numbers except 0.
