Explanation:

Active transport in cells is a form of transport which involves the transport of solute molecules across a membrane against a concentration gradient using energy provided from some chemical reaction occuring in the cell.

Active transport is an endergonic (energy-requiring) process and therefore, must proceed only when coupled to an exergonic (energy-releasing) process such as the breakdown of ATP, an oxidation reaction, absorption of sunlight, etc.

In many instances in cell, such as the Na/K pump, ATP hydrolysis is the the common exergonic reaction to which active transport is coupled to.

Answer:

We get oxygen from the air i.e. atmosphere. Green plants release oxygen in the atmosphere as a byproduct of photosynthesis. Respiratory system is responsible for obtaining oxygen from the environment. Circulatory system on other hand helps in delivering this oxygen to different cells of the body with the help of blood.

We get nutrients from the food that we eat. Digestive system breaks down all the complex compounds (such as polysaccharides, polypeptides, fats etc) into simpler elements which are easy to absorb.  

CO_{2} produced as a waste product by the cells is carried by the blood to alveoli in the lungs where it gets diffused out and come out of the body as a part of exhale air. Solid wastes are mainly excreted out of the body from anus which is a part of digestive system. On the other hand, liquid waste (urine) is excreted out of the body with the help of urethra which is the part of excretory system. In addition, excess salts and water can also excrete out of the body through skin.

Muscles and bones together help us in our locomotion. Nervous system is important for proper functioning of bones and muscles.

Meiosis is the type of cell division used to produce haploid cells or gametes from a diploid parent cell. Hence, it is used in reproduction system to produce sperm in males and eggs in females.

Both anaerobic respiration (fermentation) and aerobic respiration are processes that yeast can do.

yeast:

  • Much more ATP is produced during aerobic respiration, however there is a chance of becoming oxygen poisonous. Less energy-efficient anaerobic respiration enables life in anoxic environments. Muscle function inside the human body depends on both aerobic and anaerobic respiration.
  • Yeast can carry out both anaerobic respiration (fermentation) and aerobic respiration. Both produces carbon dioxide , fermentation produces a much lower amount of ATP.
  • Chemical equation of Anaerobic respiration or fermentation:-

C6H12O6 --- 2 C2H5OH + 2 CO2 + 2 ATP ( heat)

  • Chemical equation of Aerobic respiration :-

C6H12O6 + 6 O2 ------ 6 CO2 + 6 H2O + 38ATP
