Lets fill in what we can as we go and work our way around to find all the angles and make sure they add to the correct degree.

Lets begin with the supplementary angle next to 142 at the--bottom right and that triangle
180-142=38
180-38-49=93
w=93

Moving to the triangle above that one
vertical angles are congruent
w=93, so the angle above it is 93
180-93-42=45

Now the very bottom triangle
180-142=38
180-38-73=69

To move any further we need to find the angles of the hexagon in the center(hexagon interior angles=720)
180-93=87(93 is w)
(left of 142)180-69=111
(right of 131)180-45=135
131+135+87+142+111=606
180-606=114
z=114

Upperleft triangle
y=180-131
y=49
180-114=66(114 is z)
x=180-49-66
x=65

Bottom left triangle
180-114=66
180-111=69
180-66-69=45

Answer: z=114

Hope this helps, I know I went into unecessary detail :)

Jason makes 2centiliters of medicine.how many milliliters is this?
NARA [144]
Know KHDBDCM. that's the order of prefixes. you start at Cent and move right once to Milli.  So you move the decimal the same exact way in the number. So 2 centiliters is actually 20 milliliters.

Pilar wanted to use a estimation to solve a decimal addition problem. She correctly used estimation to rewrite the problem as 12
Maksim231197 [3]

After estimation of decimals problem is written as

=12+3+5+6

There are infinite ways of writing the original problem, i am writing few ways

1. 12.10 +2.95+5.05+6.06----Rounding tenth and Hundreth to nearest ones that is a whole number.

2. 12.25+3.05+4.75+6.42----Rounding tenth and Hundreth to nearest ones that is a whole number.

40% of the students passed both exams. 80% of the students passed the second exam. how many students (in percent) who passed the
navik [9.2K]

50%. students (in percent) who passed the second exam also passed the first exam.

Let's imagine that there are 100 kids in the teacher's class. We know that 40 of them passed BOTH tests, and 80 passed the second test.

Because if they weren't, they wouldn't have passed the first test and consequently wouldn't have passed both, we can be sure that the group of students who passed BOTH tests is only made up of the 80 who passed the second test.

Thus, both tests were passed by 40 of the 80 pupils who passed the second one:

40/80 = 1/2 = 50%.
