You would move the 7c to the left side

next , collect the like terms which are 5c and 7c ,and that would equal -2c

then you would do -8-1 which equals -9

then divide both sides of the equation by -2

then answer is c= 9/2

Hey there! :)

5c + 1 = 7c - 8

To do these types of problems, we must isolate our given variable [c].

So, we must separate the variables from the coefficients.

We can start by subtracting 1 from both sides.

5c + 1 - 1 = 7c - 8 - 1

Simplify.

5c = 7c - 9

Then, we subtract 7c from both sides.

5c - 7c = 7c - 9 - 7c

Simplify.

-2c = -9

Divide both sides by -2.

-2c ÷ -2 = -9 ÷ -2

Simplify.

c = 9/2

If you wish to simplify this further into a mixed fraction, then we can divide 9 by 2. This turns it into 4.5 which turns into 4 1/2 in fraction form.

Therefore, our answer is : c = 9/2 OR 4 1/2

~Hope I helped!~

A sign in a bakery gives these options: • 12 cupcakes for $29 • 24 cupcakes for $56 • 50 cupcakes for $129 Find each unit price
crimeas [40]

Answer:

a) $2.44 per cupcake

b) $2.33 per cupcake

c) $2.58 per cupcake

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following in the question:

We have to calculate the unit price of the cupcakes.

Unit price =

=\dfrac{\text{Total Cost}}{\text{Number of cupcakes}}

12 cupcakes for $29

Unit price =

=\dfrac{29}{12}=2.43\text{ Dollar per cupcake}

24 cupcakes for $56

Unit price =

=\dfrac{56}{24}=2.33\text{ Dollar per cupcake}

50 cupcakes for $129

Unit price =

=\dfrac{129}{50}=2.58\text{ Dollar per cupcake}

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  (a)  cos(55°) = 11/x

Step-by-step explanation:

The marked sides are the hypotenuse (x) and the side adjacent to the given angle (11). Then the relevant trig ratio is ...

  Cos = Adjacent/Hypotenuse

  cos(55°) = 11/x
