Answer:

Niels Bohr was a Danish physicist who contributed to the understanding of the atom and quantum mechanics. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922.

Based on the theories of Ernest Rutherford, he published his own atomic model (Bohr's atomic model) in 1913, introducing the theory of quantized orbits, which in quantum mechanical theory consists of the characteristics that, around the Atomic nucleus, the number of electrons in each orbit increases from the inside to the outside.

In his model, in addition, the electrons could fall (to go from one orbit to another) from an outer orbital to an inner one, emitting a photon of discrete energy, fact on which quantum mechanics is based.

In 1922 he received the Nobel Prize in Physics for his work on atomic structure and radiation.

In an experiment to measure the wavelength of light using a double slit, it is found that the fringes are too close together to
Mandarinka [93]

Answer:

halve the slit separation

Explanation:

As we know that

In YDS experiment, the equation of fringe width is as follows

\beta = \frac{\lambda D}{d}

where,

D denotes the separation in the middle of screen and slits

d denotes the distance in the middle of two slits

And to increase the Δx we have to decrease the d i.e, the distance between the two slits

Hence, the first option is correct

Why is alternating current more effective at long–distance travel than direct current?
amid [387]
Because we can send high voltage, low current which is more efficient since large amounts of current in the line causes power inefficiencies. AC can be transformed locally to high current lower voltage

A 45.0-kg sample of ice is at 0.00°C. How much heat is needed to melt it? For water, Lf=334 kJ/kg and Lv=2257 kJ/kg
Aleonysh [2.5K]

Heat required to change the phase of ice is given by

Q = m* L

here

m = mass of ice

L = latent heat of fusion

now we have

m = 45 kg

L = 334 KJ/kg

now by using above formula

Q = 45 * 334 * 10^3

Q = 1.5 * 10^7 J

In KJ we can convert this as

Q = 1.5 * 10^4 kJ

so the correct answer is D option

Polarized light is incident on three polarizing filters in a row. The initial intensity of the light is 4 W/m^2. The first filte
DiKsa [7]

Answer:

45°

Explanation:

I = Polarized light after 3 filter = 0.5 W/m²

I_0 = Initial light intensity = 4 W/m²

The intensity of polarized light is given by

I=I_0cos^2Acos^245cos^245\\\Rightarrow A=cos^{-1}\sqrt{\dfrac{I}{I_0cos^245cos^245}}\\\Rightarrow A=cos^{-1}\sqrt{\dfrac{0.5}{4\times cos^245\times cos^245}}\\\Rightarrow A=45^{\circ}

Hence, the angle relative to the vertical was the light initially polarized is 45°
