Which event of the cardiac cycle occurs when systolic blood pressure is measured?
AlekseyPX

Answer:

Contraction of the heart (ventricles contract)

Explanation:

Systole and diastole are two stages of the cardiac cycle. Systole is the contraction phase of the heart, where blood is pumped into the blood vessels. Diastole is the relaxation phase, causing blood to enter the heart.

Diastolic pressure occurs early in the cardiac cycle. It is the minimum pressure in the arteries when the pumping chambers of the heart fill with blood. At the end of the cardiac cycle, systolic pressure occurs when the ventricles contract.

The blood pressure reading is measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg) and is given in two numbers.  The largest number is the systolic blood pressure reading, which represents the maximum pressure exerted when the heart contracts. The smallest number is the reading of diastolic blood pressure, which represents the minimum pressure in the arteries when the heart is in relaxation phase.
