Answer:

6.25

Explanation:

M = d/g........................ Equation 1

making g the subject of the equation,

g = d/M............................. Equation 2

Where M = mileage per gallon, d = distance move from Essex campus to Catonsville campus, g = amount of gasoline used

Given: M = 38 miles per gallon, d = 37.2 km

If 1 kilometer =  0.62 miles

Then, 37.2 km = 37.2×0.62 miles = 23.064 miles

Substituting these values into equation 2,

g = 38/23.064

g = 1.648 gallon

g ≈1.65 gallon

Thus,

If,     0.264 gallon = 1 liters.

Then, 1.65 gallon = 1.65×1/0.264 = 6.25 liters.

g = 6.25

Thus the car will use 6.25 liters of gasoline to move from the Essex campus to the Catonsville campus.

The correctly balanced equation for H2O2 → H2O + O2 is
Citrus2011 [14]

Answer:2H2O2 → 2H2O + O2

Explanation:

For a chemical equation to be balanced, the number of moles of each element at the reactant must be equal to that of the product.

According to the equation given

H2O2 → H2O + O2

There are two hydrogen atoms with two oxygen atoms at the reactant and 2hydrogen and 3oxygen at the product which shows the equation is not balanced. To balance this,

We will add 2 moles to H2O2 at the reactant and 2 moles to H2O at the product to give;

2H2O2 → 2H2O + O2 (Balanced equation)

As we can see that we now have 4 moles of Hydrogen and 4 moles of oxygen at both reactant and product making the equation balanced.

A 25.0-gram bullet enters a 2.25-kg watermelon with a speed of 220 m/s and exits the opposite side with a speed of 110 m/s. If t
umka21 [38]

Answer:

3.67 m/s

Explanation:

From the law of conservation of momentum,

Total momentum before collision = Total momentum after collision.

mu+m'u' = mv+m'v'............................... Equation 1

Where m = mass of the bullet, m' = mass of the watermelon, u = initial velocity of the bullet, u' = initial velocity of the watermelon, v = final velocity of the bullet, v' = final velocity of the watermelon.

make v' the subject of the equation,

v' = (mu+m'u'-mv)/m'....................... Equation 2

Given: m = 25 g = 0.025 kg, u = 220 m/s, m' = 2.25 kg, u' = 0 m/s ( at rest), v = 110 m/s.

Substitute into equation 2

v' =[ (0.025×220) +(2.25×0)+(0.025×110)]/2.25

v' = 3.67 m/s.

Hence the velocity of the watermelon = 3.67 m/s
