I don’t know what we have to do but from what I think it is.. to me the answer for the first one is 5(3)+9(-2)=-3. The way I figured this one out is I multiplied 5x3 which gave me 15 and then 9x-2 which gave me -18. Once you have that you should subtract 15 and -18 which will give you -3. I don’t know the second one... sorry

3 giant Sandwiches,

8 friends,

Have to be shared equally,

Each friend gets = \frac{3}{8}

If we solve, we'll end with 0.375 Which is between 0 and 1.

So,
It will lie in between 0 and 1.

Write a polynomial functionſ of least degree that has rational coefficients, a leading coefficient of 1, and the zeros 1,3, and
otez555 [7]

Answer:

f(x) = x^{4}  -  8x^{3}  + 24x^{2}  - 32x  + 15

Step-by-step explanation:

First of all, if 2 - i is a zero, then so is 2 + i

All you need to do now is multiply (x - 1)(x - 3)(x - 2 + i)(x - 2 - i)

I will do part of that multiplication

(x - 2 + i)(x - 2 - i) = x^{2} - 2x - xi - 2x + 4 + 2i + xi - 2i - i^{2}

                           = x^{2} - 4x + 5

So, now (x - 1)(x - 3)(x^{2} - 4x + 5) =  x^{4}  -  8x^{3}  + 24x^{2}  - 32x  + 15

I will let you finish that multiplication.  I did some and you can do some.  OK?

6. A cookie jar contains 315 M&M's. There are only brown and
Romashka [77]

The system of equations representing the problem is

b+g=315\\8b-g=0

and we have 35 brown M&M's and 280 green M&M's in the cookie jar.

<h3>Formulating the equations</h3>

If we let b represent the number of brown M&M's and g the number of green M&M's, then, from the sentence

"...<em>A cookie jar contains 315 M&M's. There are only brown and green M&M's in the jar</em>..."

we can construct the algebraic equation

b+g=315

Also, from the sentence

"...<em>The number of green M&M's is 8 times that of the brown M&M's</em>..."

we can construct the algebraic equation

g=8b\implies 8b-g=0

overall, we have the system of equations with unknowns b and g

b+g=315\\8b-g=0

<h3>Solving the system of equations</h3>

Adding the two equations, we get

(b + 8b) +(g + (-g))=315+0\\9b=315\\\\\dfrac{9b}{9}=\dfrac{315}{9}\\\\b=35

Substituting this value for b into the relationship g=8b

g=8b\\g=8(35)=280

Therefore, we have 35 brown M&M's and 280 green M&M's
