NaCl IS READILY SOLUBLE IN WATER DUE TO HIGH HYDRATION ENERGY

BUT HAVE HIGH MELTING POINT DUE TO STRONG ELECTROSTATIC FORCE BETWEEN SODIUM AND CHLORIDE IONS.

Explanation:

Sodium has low melting point 98 deg celcius. In water sodium gets floated.

But sodium chloride have a high melting point because lattice is constructed due to strong electro-static force between positive sodium ions and negative chloride ions as they attract each other. This leads to strong construction so, NaCl have high temperature to break the bonds between the ions.

The melting temperature depends on the charge of the ions. Due to high hydration energy the sodium ions are readily soluble in water. Water can dissolve salt because the positive part of water molecules attracts negative chloride ions and negative part of water molecules attracts positive sodium ions.

The reaction for what was describe in the problem is:

N₂ + 3 O₂ --> 2 NO₃

The reactants involved are nitrogen and oxygen gas. From the word itself, oxygen is an oxidizing agent. <em>Therefore, this reaction is an oxidation reaction due to the presence of the oxidizing agent.</em>

So the relative mass of fluorine in the second compound is one-third that of sf6. what formula expresses one-third the amount of
stealth61 [152]

The formula SF_2 expresses one-third the amount of F.

The F:S ratio in the first compound is 6:1.

We want a compound with one third the amount of F, so F:S = 2:1.

The simplest formula with this ratio is SF_2.

In nature, oxygen has three common isotopes. The atomic masses and relative abundances of these isotopes are given in the table
Vaselesa [24]

Answer: The average atomic mass of oxygen is 15.999 amu

Explanation:

Mass of isotope O-16 = 15.995 amu

% abundance of isotope O-16= 99.759 % = \frac{99.759}{100}=0.99759

Mass of isotope O-17 = 16.995 amu

% abundance of isotope O-17 = 0.037% = \frac{0.037}{100}=0.00037

Mass of isotope O-18 = 17.999 amu

% abundance of isotope O-18 = 0.204% = \frac{0.204}{100}=0.00204

Formula used for average atomic mass of an element :

\text{ Average atomic mass of an element}=\sum(\text{atomic mass of an isotopes}\times {{\text { fractional abundance}})

A=\sum[(15.995\times 0.99759)+(16.995\times 0.00037)+(17.999 \times 0.00204)]

A=15.999

Thus the average atomic mass of oxygen is 15.999 amu
