Area of the shape = 26.75 units²

Solution:

Base of the small triangle = 2 units

Height of the small triangle = 2 units

Area of the small triangle = \frac{1}{2}bh

                                          $=\frac{1}{2}\times2\times2

Area of the small triangle = 2 units²

Base of the medium triangle = 5 units

Height of the medium triangle = 2 units

Area of the medium triangle = \frac{1}{2}bh

                                          $=\frac{1}{2}\times5\times2

Area of the medium triangle = 5 units²

Side length of the square = 2 units

Area of the square = side × side

                                = 2 × 2

Area of the square = 4 units²

Base of the large triangle = 2 + 2 + 5 = 9 units

Height of the large triangle = 3.5 units

Area of the large triangle =  \frac{1}{2}bh

                                          $=\frac{1}{2}\times9\times3.5

Area of the large triangle = 15.75 units²

Area of the shape = Area of the small triangle + Area of medium triangle

                                 + Area of square + Area of large triangle

                              = 2 units² + 5 units² + 4 units² + 15.75 units²

                              = 26.75 units²

Area of the shape = 26.75 units²

Customers at a gas station pay with a credit card (A), debit card (B), or cash (C). Assume that successive customers make indepe
Maurinko [17]

Answer:

Mean = 20

Variance = 16

Step-by-step explanation:

Solution:-

- Let X be the number of customers paying with a debit card.  X has the binomial distribution with n = 100 trials and success probability p = 0.2

- In general, if X has the binomial distribution with (n) trials and a success probability of (p) then:

                 P[X = x] = n!/(x!(n-x)!) * p^x * (1-p)^(n-x)

                 for values of x = 0, 1, 2, ..., n

                 P[X = x] = 0 for any other value of x.

- The probability mass function is derived by looking at the number of combination of x objects chosen from n objects and then a total of x success and n - x failures.

- Or, in other words, the binomial is the sum of n independent and identically distributed Bernoulli trials.

                  X ~ Binomial( n = 100 , p = 0.2 )

- The mean of the binomial distribution is n * p = 20

- The variance of the binomial distribution is n * p * (1 - p) = 16

Write an equation of a line in point-slope, slope-intercept, and standard form that has
Inga [223]

Answer:

(a) y + 4x - 14 = 0

(b) y = -4x + 14

(c) y + 4x = 14

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for calculating the equation of line in point - slope form is given as :

y-y_{1}  = m(x-x_{1} )

where m is the slope

Given from the question :

m = - 4

x_{1} = 2

y_{1} = 6

Substituting into the formula , we have :

y - 6 = - 4(x - 2)

y - 6 = -4x + 8

y + 4x - 6 - 8 = 0

y + 4x - 14 = 0

Therefore :

(a) the equation of the line in point - slope form is y + 4x - 14 = 0

(b) to write it in slope - intercept form , we will make y the subject of the formula , which will give : y = -4x + 14

(c) the equation of line in standard form is ; y + 4x = 14

What is the equation of the trend line?<br> Enter your answers in the boxes.<br><br> K = _J +_
MrRissso [65]
The y-intercept of the trend line is (0,28).  The slope of this line is
         28-0
m = --------- = 2
         14-0

Thus, the equation of the trend line, in variables K and J, is

K = 2J + 28
