(1) For the parabola on the bottom row, the domain would be R and the range would be y ≥ -5

(2) For the hyperbola on the bottom row, the domain would be R\{3} (since there is an asymptote at x = 3) and the range would be R\{4} (since there is an asymptote at y = 4)

(3) For the square root function on the bottom row, the domain would be x ≥ -5 and the range would be (-∞, -2]

(4) For the function to the very right on the bottom row, the domain would be R and the range would be (-∞, -3]

flooring a value, simply means, dropping it to the closest integer, so for the floor function or ⌊x⌋, that means

⌊ 2.5 ⌋ = 2

⌊ 2.00000001 ⌋ = 2

⌊ 2.999999999999⌋ = 2

⌊ -2.0000000001⌋ = -3

⌊ -2.999999999999⌋ = -3

let's recall that on the negative side of the number line, the farther from 0, the smaller, so -1,000,000 is a tiny number compared to the much larger -1.

⌊ -5.2 ⌋ = -6.

A line has a slope of 11 and passes through the point (2,4). PLSS HELPP I NEED IT
Ivenika [448]

Answer:

y = 11x - 18

Step-by-step explanation:

Use the equation y = mx + b

m (the slope) = 11

x (the x-coordinate) = 2

y (the y-coordinate) = 4

Plug it in for our original equation:

4 = 11*2 + b

4 = 22 + b

4 - 22 = b

b = -18

Therefore, the answer is y = 11x - 18. The tricks to these problems are usually in the same format, when you are given the slope and a point it passes through, just plug in the slope and the x and y, and solve for b. Hope this helps!

I) Construct a triangle PQR such that |PQ|=8cm,{RPQ=90°{PQR=30°.Measure |RQ|
scoray [572]

Answer:

6.93 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

You have a right triangle (90°), so you do as follow:

If I understand correctly, you are looking for the hypotenuse so

cos(30) = \frac{PQ}{QR} = \frac{8 cm}{QR}

That is equal to QR = cos(30)*8 cm = 6.928 cm
