Plants use sunlight to make food. Sally's father told her that if plants were placed inside, away from a window, they would bend

and grow toward the light. Sally did not believe her father so she took some flowering plants inside in flower pots. She placed three plants on the window sill. Then she placed three plants on the table. She watered all the plants daily. During the next two weeks, Sally charted the plant growth. The plants on the window sill grew straight up, but the plants on the table had stems that were bent. The plants were stretching in the direction of the window! What conclusion could Sally make about the plants in her experiment? A) Plants only grow when placed outside. B) Sunlight has no effect on the way plants grow. C) Sally's father is correct. Plants respond to sunlight. D) Sally's father is not correct. The plants are searching for water.
