Athlete's foot is caused by a fungus, and fungi like to grow in warm, dark, and humid places. The inside of a shoe, especially if your foot is wet from sweat, is heaven for fungi. The first sign of athlete's foot will probably be painful cracks between your toes. Over-the-counter foot sprays or powders may work, but if the problem persists, see a doctor who can prescribe anti-fungal drugs. To prevent the spread of the infection, dry your feet with a separate towel. The fungus that causes athlete's foot can persist for a long time. The best ways to prevent it are to keep your feet clean and dry, change your shoes and socks often, and use some sort of footwear in pools, locker-room showers, and changing rooms. ATP synthase is a protein that catalyzes the formation of the energy storage molecule adenosine triphosphate (ATP) using adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and inorganic phosphate (Pi). It is classified under ligases as it changes ADP by the formation of P-O bond (phosphodiester bond). ATP synthase is a molecular machine.

The overall reaction catalyzed by ATP synthase is:

ADP + Pi + 2H+(out)    ⇌      ATP + H2O + 2H+(in)

The formation of ATP from ADP and Pi is energetically unfavorable and would normally proceed in the reverse direction. In order to drive this reaction forward, ATP synthase couples ATP synthesis during cellular respiration to an electrochemical gradient created by the difference in proton (H+) concentration across the inner mitochondrial membrane in eukaryotes or the plasma membrane in bacteria. During photosynthesis in plants, ATP is synthesized by ATP synthase using a proton gradient created in the thylakoid lumen through the thylakoid membrane and into the chloroplast stroma.

The enzymes that digest carbohydrates are very specific and can only digest specific glucose monomers of a Polysaccharides. For example our body can digest starch since its made up of α-glucose monomers (the difference of α-glucose and β-glucose is just on the location of the hydroxl group). However <span>Polysaccharides</span> like cellulose are indigestible because cellulose is made up of β-glucose and the enzyme which digests polysaccharides in humans (amylase) cannot detect β-glucose linkages.
