Answer:

mass=238.52g

Explanation:

Energy that is not utilized for work or heat transfer is converted to the chemical energy of body fat containing about 39 kJ/g. How many grams of fat will you gain if you eat 10,000 kJ (about 2500 kcal) one day and do nothing but sit relaxed for 16.0 h and sleep for the other 8.00 h

unutilized energy converted to body fat, F=39 kj/g

time to relax=16h

consumed energy =10000 kj

sleeping time=8h

rate of energy consumption whilst sleeping=83j/s

rate of energy consumption whilst sitting=120j/s

energy is power x time

E=p*t

substituting the parameters

energy used in sleeping=83j/s*8*3600=2390400=2390.4kJ

energy consumed whilst sitting=120j/s*16*3600=6912kj

total unused nery =2390.4kJ+6912kj

9302.4kj

energy stored /mass=39 kJ/g

9302.4kj=39 kJ/g*mass

mass=9302.4kj/39 kJ/g

mass=238.52g

Answer:

51.28 grams of fat will gain

Explanation:

Correction: 10,000 kj about 2500 cal not 2500 kcal.

Asumption: basal metabolic rate will depend of weight, lenght, age and gender but its estipulated a 2000 cal basal metabolic rate as a standar for the calculation for nutritional value of food.

eating a 2500 cal in one day will left

Consuming about 2,500 calories in a day where you only sit relaxed for 16 hours and the rest of the time was used to sleep will mean a basal metabolism of 2000 cal, so 500 calories were left unused, taking into account that 1 calorie is about 4 kj we have to

500 cal * 4kj / cal = 2000 kj

The amount of energy stored as fat will be given by the following equation:

Unused energy / energy contained in one gram of fat = 2000 kj / (39 kj / g) = 51.28 grams of fat gain

insens350 [35]

Answer:

Habitat manipulation

Explanation:

Habitat manipulation, otherwise known as ecological engineering, is a technique of promoting natural enemies within an ecosystem by making thriving conditions more suitable for them.

In this case, thriving conditions for the species (which happens to be predators and hence, natural enemies) were promoted via artificial introduction of food.

The lengths and diameters of three wires are given below. Wire Length Diameter Wire 1 0.5 m 0.5 cm Wire 2 2 m 0.25 cm Wire 3 1 m
Rom4ik [11]

Answer:

The ratio reisistivity of the wires = 15.72 : 1 : 31.44

Explanation:

ρ = RA/L................. Equation 1

Where ρ = resistivity of the wire, R = resistance, A = cross sectional area, L = length of the wire.

Note: All the resistance are the same.

For the wire 1,

L = 0.5 m, A =πd²/4, d = 0.5 cm = 0.005 m, π = 3.143

A = 3.143(0.005)²/4 = 0.0000196 m²

ρ₁ = R(0.0000196)/0.5

ρ₁ = 0.0000393R

For Wire 2,

L = 2 m, d = 0.25 cm = 0.0025 m

A =πd²/4 = 3.143(0.0025)²/4

A = 0.0000049 m²

ρ₂ = R(0.0000049)/2

ρ₂ = 0.0000025R

For Wire 3

L = 1 m, d = 1 cm = 0.01 m

A = πd²/4 = 3.143(0.01)²/4

A = 0.0000786 m²

ρ₃ = R(0.0000786)/1

ρ₃ = 0.0000786R

Therefore,

ρ₁ : ρ₂ : ρ₃ = 0.0000393R : 0.0000025R : 0.0000786R

ρ₁ : ρ₂ : ρ₃ = 3.93 : 0.25 : 7.86

ρ₁ : ρ₂ : ρ₃ = 15.72 : 1 : 31.44

Thus the ratio reisistivity of the wires = 15.72 : 1 : 31.44
