The social, cultural, and religious in Ghana allowed men to use beating and other violence towards women which considered to be legal in the country that led to the construction of traditional masculinity.  There are distinct gender roles in Ghana society that allows women to marry and keep the home and support children, while men required to earn and provide for their families.
