From 19 measurements of a pressure controller, the mean operating pressure is 4.97 kPa with a standard deviation of 0.0461 kPa.

Find: If more measurements are taken, estimate the expected range of pressure for 95% of the measurements.

Answer:

4.97-2.10\frac{0.0461}{\sqrt{19}}=4.95

4.97+2.10\frac{0.0461}{\sqrt{19}}=4.99

So on this case the 95% confidence interval would be given by (4.95;4.99)

Step-by-step explanation:

Previous concepts

A confidence interval is "a range of values that’s likely to include a population value with a certain degree of confidence. It is often expressed a % whereby a population means lies between an upper and lower interval".

The margin of error is the range of values below and above the sample statistic in a confidence interval.

Normal distribution, is a "probability distribution that is symmetric about the mean, showing that data near the mean are more frequent in occurrence than data far from the mean".

\bar X =4.97 represent the sample mean

\mu population mean (variable of interest)

s=0.0461 represent the sample standard deviation

n=19 represent the sample size

Confidence interval

The confidence interval for the mean is given by the following formula:

\bar X \pm t_{\alpha/2}\frac{s}{\sqrt{n}}   (1)

In order to calculate the critical value t_{\alpha/2} we need to find first the degrees of freedom, given by:

df=n-1=19-1=18

Since the Confidence is 0.95 or 95%, the value of \alpha=0.05 and \alpha/2 =0.025, and we can use excel, a calculator or a table to find the critical value. The excel command would be: "=-T.INV(0.025,18)".And we see that t_{\alpha/2}=2.10

Now we have everything in order to replace into formula (1):

4.97-2.10\frac{0.0461}{\sqrt{19}}=4.95

4.97+2.10\frac{0.0461}{\sqrt{19}}=4.99

So on this case the 95% confidence interval would be given by (4.95;4.99)

Answer:

13 and 53

Step-by-step explanation:

First Integer: x

Larger integer: 5x-12

66=x+(5x-12)

66= x+5x-12

66=6x+12

78=6x

13=x

First Integer: 13

Larger Integer: 13*5-12= 65-12=53

ASHA 777 [7]

Answer:

No, the cone will not hold all of the ice cream.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

" According to the Joy Cone Company, their waffle cones have a diameter of 2 5/8 inches and a  height of 6 inches.

If you place one scoops of ice cream (in the shape of a sphere) with a diameter of 2 7/8 inches would let  it melt.

Now, to explain mathematically will the cone hold all of the ice cream.

<u>Taking the value of π = 3.14.</u>

So, to get the volume of waffle cone we put formula:

Height (h) = 6 inches.

Diameter = 2\frac{5}{8}=\frac{21}{8}\ inches.

Thus radius (r) = Diameter ÷ 2 = \frac{\frac{21}{8}}{2} =\frac{21}{16} \ inches.

Volume=\pi r^2\frac{h}{3}

Volume=3.14\times \frac{21}{16} \times \frac{21}{16} \times \frac{6}{3}

Volume=3.14\times 1.31\times 1.31\times 2

Volume=10.78\ inches^3.

The volume of waffle cone = 10.78 inches³.

Now, to get the volume of scoop which is in the shape of sphere we put formula:

Diameter = 2\frac{7}{8} =\frac{23}{8} \ inches.

Thus radius (r) = Diameter ÷ 2 =\frac{\frac{23}{8}}{2} =\frac{23}{16} \ inches.

Volume = \frac{4}{3} \pi r^3

Volume = \frac{4}{3} \times 3.14\times \frac{23}{16} \times \frac{23}{16} \times \frac{23}{16}

Volume=1.33\times 3.14\times 1.44\times 1.44\times 1.44

Volume=12.47\ inches^3.

<em>The volume of one scoop of ice cream = 12.47 inches³.</em>

<u><em>So, as the volume of scoop of ice cream is more than the volume of cone.</em></u>

<u><em>Thus, if placing one scoop of ice cream in the cone and let it melt, the cone will not hold all of the ice cream.</em></u>

Therefore, no the cone will not hold all of the ice cream.

Math experts please help!!!!
Shalnov [3]

Answer:

x is 72 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the measure of x, you need to know the sum of the interior angles of the pentagon.

Sum = (n - 2) x 180

Sum = (5 - 2) x 180

Sum = 3 x 180

Sum = 540

Now divide this by 5, the number of sides

540/5 = 108 degrees for each angle of the pentagon.

To find the measure of x, look at the opposite angle, which is 108 degrees

180 - 108 = 72

The measure of angle x is 72 degrees.
