It's an ellipse centered at the origin: ezpz

take an x²
look at one of the x-intercepts
square that and slap it under the x²

put a "+" after it.

take a y²
look at one of the y-intercepts
square that and slap it under the y²
Put that all after the "+"

Last, put an "= 1" at the end and BAM!!!

Congratulations! You now have an equation!

\frac{x^{2} }{25} + \frac{ y^{2} }{9} = 1

Solve using elimination x+2y=4 -x-y=2
insens350 [35]

Answer:

x=-8 y=6

Step-by-step explanation:

Add the two equations together. This cancels the x and gets us y=6

Then substitute y in more the first equation which gets us -8

Find all real and imaginary zeros for a polynomial function
natta225 [31]
For the answer to this, we turn to the all-important Fundamental Theorem of Algebra, which states that every degree-n polynomial has exactly n imaginary roots. It's important to keep in mind that this theorem doesn't tell you how to find these roots - it just tells you that they exist.

1. Solve the equation m2 + 6m=-4 using the quadratic formula.
sveta [45]

Answer:

-3± √5

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that,

m² + 6m = -4

Points to remember

Solution of a quadratic equation ax² + bx + c = 0

x = [-b ± v(b² - 4ac)]/2a

To find the solution of given equation

m² + 6m = -4

⇒ m² + 6m + 4 = 0

Here a = 1, b = 6 and c = 4

m = [-b ± v(b² - 4ac)]/2a

 = [-6 ± √(6² - 4*1*4)]/2*1

 = [-6 ± √(36 - 16)]/2

 = [-6 ± √20]/2

 = [-6 ± 2√5]/2

= -3± √5
