The poet has shared plenty of experiences on the frontier. He shared some of his childhood experiences with his father too in the frontier. He has described some of the frontier forts in the poem.

He has also described some of his experiences with the wild animals in the frontier sight.  The poet has shared various experiences and senses of humor and his life moments of the frontier. He mentioned all the good and bad people of the frontier.
