1. Antibiotic resistance can cause global epidemics of diseases hence casing health disasters that result in high mortality and morbidity in the human population. This is because the current drugs in the market against the diseases will not be effective anymore in its control.

2. One is the misuse of antibiotics by people who self-prescribe these drugs over the counter and people who fail to complete their drug prescription when they start feeling better. The other is the overuse of the antibiotics in livestock and poultry farming.

3. One is the total ban of the use of antibiotics in poultry and livestock farming. The other is through campaigns to urge the proper use of antibiotics by people. The third is improving infection control mechanisms and system in healthcare settings.

4. People can maintain proper hygiene and sanitation using soap and hence will not require to use antibiotics to eradicate diseases which are brought about by poor sanitation. Patients should complete the full dosage of prescribed antibiotics even when they start feeling better before completion of the drugs.

5. The best way of dealing with antibiotic resistance is maintaining hygiene and sanitation. This reduces the need for use of antibiotics most of which are used against diseases that are preventable just by ensuring that the environment is clean. Increased use of antibiotics induces high rates of mutations in bacteria hence higher chances of developing resistant strains.

klemol [59]

Answer;

-are mirror images of one another.

Thalidomide and l-dopa, shown below, are examples of pharmaceutical drugs that occur as enantiomers, or molecules that are mirror images of one another

Explanation;

-Enantiomers are chiral molecules that are mirror images of one another. Furthermore, the molecules are non-superimposable on one another. This means that the molecules cannot be placed on top of one another and give the same molecule. Chiral molecules with one or more stereocenters can be enantiomers.

Enantiomers have identical chemical and physical properties in an achiral environment. They rotate the direction of plane polarized light to equal, but opposite angles and interact with other chiral molecules differently.

The structure of a substrate P strongly resembles substrate Q. In an experiment, By mistake P was used instead of Q as a substra
Dvinal [7]

Answer;

C) P and Q have similar binding properties

Explanation;

 • Enzymes are biological catalysts that speeds up chemical reactions. Substrates are substances that are acted on by an enzyme to form a product.
 • An enzyme catalyzed reaction occurs when the substrate binds to the active site of an enzyme to form and enzyme-substrate complex.
 • Substrate P and Q are structurally similar which means they are in a position of binding and fitting in the active site of an enzyme. The strong structural similarity means that the binding properties of these two different substrates may be similar.
 • Formation of similar products or results when acted upon by an enzyme mean they are similar in terms of their binding properties, and thus the production of similar product.
