Cesium because it is the only one that belongs to the alkali group.

Xenon has no reactivity so you know it can't be that one.  Lodine has very low reactivity so it also can't be that one.  Both Cesium and Scandine have high reactivity so it would have to be one of these two.  And since Cesium is in the alkalai group you know it has to be that one.

What does the name iron(ii) in a compound indicate about the cation?
bija089 [108]

Answer:- Fe^+^2

Explanations:- Transition elements shows variable oxidation states. So, while naming these compounds we use the roman numerals to tell their oxidation states.

For example, if someone writes just Iron oxide then it would not be correct since Iron could be in +2 or +3 states. So, it might be Fe^+^2 or Fe^+^3 . So, the right was is to mention the oxidation state of the transition metal.

If the name is written as Iron(II) in a compound then it means there is +2 charge on iron and it is Fe^+^2.

The dispersed particles of a colloid exhibit brownian motion, in which they move _____. toward one another, forming tiny clumps,
SIZIF [17.4K]
The dispersed particles of a colloid exhibit brownian motion, in which they move in a chaotic manner without a discernible pattern. The brownian motion is the erratic random motion of particles that are suspended in a fluid which results to the collision of molecules moving fast in the fluid they are in.

A sample of chlorine containing isotopes of mass numbers 35 and 37 was analysed in a mass-spectrometer. How many peaks correspon
Zolol [24]
Three peaks corresponding to Cl+2 will be recorded. The peaks are for isotope 35, both 35 and 37 and for isotope 37. Mass spectrometer has the ability to detect and separate isotopes, even those differing by a single atomic mass unit. When chlorine isotopes are analysed by mass spectrometer, either peak M or M+2 can be obtained. The intensity ratio in the isotope pattern depends on the natural abundance of the isotopes.

A titanium cube contains 3.10•10^23 atoms. The density of a titanium is 4.50g/cm^3. What is the edge length of the cube?
Lerok [7]

Answer:

1.76cm

Explanation:

We'll begin by calculating the mass of titanium that contain 3.10x10²³ atoms. This can be obtained as follow:

From Avogadro's hypothesis, we understood that 1 mole of any substance contains 6.02x10²³ atoms. This implies that 1 mole of titanium also contains 6.02x10²³ atoms.

1 mole of titanium = 48g

Now, if 48g of titanium contains 6.02x10²³ atoms,

Then Xg of titanium will contain 3.10x10²³ atoms i.e

Xg of titanium = (48x3.10x10²³)/6.02x10²³

Xg of titanium = 24.72g

Next, we shall determine the volume of the titanium. This is illustrated below:

Density of titanium = 4.50g/cm³

Mass of titanium = 24.72g

Volume of titanium =..?

Density = Mass /volume

Volume = Mass /Density

Volume of titanium = 24.72g/4.50g/cm³

Volume of titanium = 5.49cm³

Finally we shall determine the edge length of the titanium cube as follow:

Volume = L³

5.49cm³ = L³

Take the cube root of both side

L = 3√(5.49cm³)

L = 1.76cm

Therefore, the edge length is 1.76cm
