A spinner is divided into two equal parts, one red and one blue. The set of possible outcomes when the spinner is spun twice is

S = {RR, RB, BR, BB}. Let X represent the number of times blue occurs. Which of the following is the probability distribution, PX(x)?

Suppose that the spinner is spun twice. Find the probabilities:

Pr(X=0),\ Pr(X=1),\ Pr(X=2).

1. When X=0, blue occurs 0 times. There is one favorable outcome (RR) from four possible. Then

Pr(X=0)=\dfrac{1}{4}.

2. When X=1, blue occurs 1 times. There are two favorable outcomes (RB and BR) from four possible. Then

Pr(X=1)=\dfrac{2}{4}=\dfrac{1}{2}.

3. When X=2, blue occurs 2 times. There is one favorable outcome (BB) from four possible. Then

Pr(X=2)=\dfrac{1}{4}.

At last, the distribution table takes look

\begin{array}{cccc}x_i &|\ 0 & 1 & 2 \\------& -- &---&--- \\Pr(X=x_i) & \left |\ \dfrac{1}{4} & \dfrac{1}{2} & \dfrac{1}{4}\end{array}

WITCHER [35]

Answer:

option-B and option-A

Step-by-step explanation:

we will select each options and then we verify it

(A)

We know that when a die is rolled

There six possibilities

and two numbers are assigned to each

so, each are getting equal shares

so, this is fair

so, this is TRUE

(B)

There will be three names in three piece of paper

so, each having equal probability of getting front seat

so, this makes a fair decision

so, this is TRUE

(C)

We know that when a coin is flipped twice  , we can get same face again and again

It won't make equal probability for each one

so, it won't be fair for anyone

so, this is FALSE

(D)

We know that when a die is rolled , we can get same number again and again

It won't make equal probability for each one

so, it won't be fair for anyone

so, this is FALSE

I need help with both questions...
NikAS [45]

Answer:

17. a)

Step-by-step explanation:

17.

f(x) =x/2, then f(x-3)=(x-3)/2

x=3, f(x-3)=f(3-3)=f(0)=0 (values in table)

f(x-3)+3=0+3=3

18.

f(x) =x/2

f(x-2) for x=5 is f(5-2)=f(3)=3/2

f(x-2)+5=f(3)+5=3/2+5=3/2+10/2=13/2

Let f(x)=(x-2)^3+8 Find the inverse of f(x). Please show steps in written form would be gladly appreciated
Tatiana [17]

Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

(x-8)^(1/3) +2

Discussion:

To find the inverse of a function swap the values of x and y in the original equation y = (x-2)^3 +8  and solve for y.

y = (x-2)^3 +8          =>  original function. swap x and y values

x = (y-2)^3 + 8        =>  subtract 8 from both sides

x - 8  = (y -2)^3        =>  take cube root of both sides

(x-8)^(1/3) = y - 2     => add 2 to both sides

(x-8)^(1/3) +2 = y      => y is the inverse

Thank you,

MrB
